Since you do not own the log cabin, you do not have any control
over the property. If ever you have a little control over it,
which is mainly because you are paying for it. Nevertheless,
this type of control is very limited and only to some degree of
intensity.

Hence, this means that you cannot simply change, alter, or
modify any features of the house without the owners consent.

In addition, the owners are the ones responsible in the overall
maintenance and repair of the log cabins. Therefore,, if the
owner does not respond to your request promptly, you will be
trapped in a horrible or even dangerous place for some time.

Moreover, lack of control could also mean greater control on
the owners of the log cabin rentals. They may impose certain
regulations that may sound unfavorable to you like not allowing
pets or other aspects that you may deem necessary but cannot do
so.

2. No tax benefits, no equities

Since you do not own the log cabin, you simply do not have any
tax to pay. But the problem is that you also do not have any tax
benefits to enjoy. The irony here is that with log cabin
rentals, you are, in a way, helping the owner pays his or her
taxes regarding the log cabin but you cannot demand any
deductions for these excises on your tax returns.
